Based on the title and cover alone I probably wouldn't have read this, but I'm so glad I gave it a chance! Contemporary isn't my usual genre, but this book is an example of how it can be done RIGHT. It's funny, charming, and there's genuine tension and conflict between the leads. There's a perfect balance of sex-and-everything-else, which is to say I felt like the sex all served a purpose with regards to the characters and the plot. The jock-meets-nerd plot was a sexy m/m twist on a classic rom-com trope, and ultimately, that's why I liked this book. It's a rom-com, just like you could see at the theatre. It satisfies on every level, from that front, which sometimes is exactly what I need.
Can't wait to get into the sequel, and I'll definitely be checking out more of Anne Tenino's work.
